Mushroom expert Mitch Milgram will take us on a tour of the Park Hill trail network to introduce us to the many beautiful mushrooms and other plants that usually can be seen at this location in the autumn. The main focus of this outing will be looking for and identifying mushrooms, hoping that they are fruiting. There will be some hills but we'll be going at a slow pace with frequent stops. Any birds present will be pointed out by the birders in the group.
Meet in the lower main parking lot for Park Hill trails at 10 a.m. — the one marked “overflow parking for Canoe Beach”. Do not go to the Canoe Beach parking lot, or the upper parking lot by the pump station on Park Hill Road.
Please see our Field Trips page for important information before you join one of our outings. Note: There are no outhouses at this location.
Difficulty Rating: DR-1/DR-2. Slow paced walking with good trails but some steep grades.
