Our regular monthly meeting will be held at 7pm in the library at Salmon Arm Secondary School, Sullivan Campus in Salmon Arm. See panel to left for mapping and address details.
The meeting will begin with a Zoom presentation by Don Cecile. Don is a highly experienced birder and field naturalist who has been actively studying, documenting, and photographing avian life since 1986. Drawing on a strong formal background in biology, he has dedicated decades to understanding regional wildlife patterns, with a particular focus on the Okanagan and Shuswap. He is widely recognized for his expertise as a shorebird specialist.
In addition to his fieldwork and photography, he plays a key role in regional community science as a coordinator and compiler for the annual Christmas Bird Count in Vernon. Over the years, he has also shared this expertise by leading numerous educational field trips and specialized bird-watching tours, recently involving the Shuswap Naturalist Club.
For this presentation, Don plans to fill us in on his recent birding experiences in the arctic.
