Our regular monthly meeting will be held at 7pm in the library at Salmon Arm Secondary School, Sullivan Campus in Salmon Arm. See panel to left for mapping and address details.

The meeting will begin with a Zoom presentation by Eva Hartmann, co-founder and Executive Director of the Interior Wildlife Rehabilitation Society (IWRS), a registered charity providing medical care and rehabilitation to wild animals in the Okanagan and Shuswap. Vernon-based volunteer Michelle Gregoire will join Eva as a co-presenter.

A Registered Veterinary Technician with a degree in International Forest Ecosystem Management, Eva gained global animal care experience across Germany, Australia, and Africa before co-founding IWRS in 2020 to fill a critical gap in local wildlife rescue resources.

Her profound dedication was demonstrated in August 2026 when the Bald Range wildfire destroyed the IWRS facility and her private residence in Summerland, BC. Eva successfully executed an emergency evacuation that saved every single animal in their care, and she continues to lead the organization's urgent fundraising and planning efforts to rebuild the wildlife centre.
